Why We Bought the Car
In the world of JDM legends, the Prodrive P1 is a unicorn - one of only 1,000 units ever produced, originally available only in Right-Hand Drive. This P1 was bought from a private collection that was having some cars being offloaded and it was acquired for a very reasonable price. The car itself wasn't just any P1; it had undergone an extensive restoration and a Left-Hand Drive conversion in the few years prior. While a "standard" P1 is a prize, an LHD-converted, fully-sorted example is a holy grail for JDM enthusiasts. We moved quickly to secure the car for €18,000 - a fraction of the cost of its widebody sibling, the 22B which is easily worth €150,000. Today, the car is valued at nearly triple that price, showing that patience for a quick "off-market" deal is the best return on investment in the automotive world.

THE CONDITION
Presented in the iconic Sonic Blue with the original 17-inch OZ Racing wheels, this P1 defies its 186,000 km odometer. The restoration was so thorough that the car retains its factory-fresh aesthetic, despite its lightweight, rally-bred purpose. Producing a punchy 290 hp in a chassis that weighs significantly less than a modern hatchback, it offers a visceral, analog experience that modern cars can’t replicate. It even retains the "character" of its bespoke conversion: because Prodrive never manufactured LHD-specific parts, the driver-side window switch operates in reverse - a charming mechanical fingerprint of its unique history. With ice-cold A/C and a chassis that feels "bolted to the road," it is the ultimate expression of 90s rally heritage for the modern road.
