We located this highly optioned 2017 Audi A4 45 TFSI S-Line right under our noses in Portland, Maine. While casual shoppers immediately skipped past it's slightly higher mileage, but our deep-dive history check uncovered a goldmine: this car spent the vast majority of its life cruising the salt-free, smooth highways of Florida with mostly highway mileage. Better yet, the previous owner, a huge Audi enthusiast, had meticulously handled the exact mechanical Achilles' heels that plague the EA888 engine over time—the notorious leaking plastic water pump and thermostat assembly had already been replaced, and the 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission had been regularly serviced. Despite crossing the 229,000 km threshold, this A4 drives like a vehicle with a fraction of the mileage. Because it was protected from harsh northern winters for most of its life, the chassis is entirely rust-free and the Daytona Pearl Gray paint retains its deep, glossy luster. Every major electronic and driving aid—from the brilliant Virtual Cockpit to the advanced Audi Pre-Sense safety net—operates completely flawlessly. The previous owner used the car almost exclusively on the highway, and so we were confident in the condition of the car. The interior leather shows only very minor bolster wear, and all of the surfaces are nice and clean with no grime. Most importantly, all the expensive items were replaced, such as the water pump, thermostat, engine mounts, suspension and struts.
